Elephant Ears

I chose elephant ears because I love getting these at the fair and I can even make them at home now.

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tablespoon white sugar
  • 3 tablespoon shortening
  • 4 cups flour

Mix all of the ingredients together in a large bowl. Take dough and knead until it turns soft and elastic. Add more flour if it is watery. Cover the dough with a clean towel for 1 hour. Divide the dough into 12 to 15 balls and make each ball about 1/8 inch thick, Roll it flat. Put oil in a medium size pan and place on oven in medium heat, cook until golden brown and put sugar and cinnamon on if want.
